What’s the difference between break-even analysis and break-even point?

The number that gets calculated in the top right cell under Break-Even Units is the number of units you need to sell to break even. Assume that an investor pays a $5 premium for an Apple stock (AAPL) call option with a $170 strike price. In reality, some costs may not fit cleanly into these categories. Note that in the prior example, the fixed costs are “paid for” by the contribution margin. The more profit a company makes on its units, the fewer it needs to sell to break even.
